RSS Feeds that I am following...

First, I have to say that this assignment serves to demonstrate just how much fantastic material is out in cyberspace, and how little time I have to read it all. Periodically I visit each of the following sites to check on the material, however, like my podcast list that is never ending, I can not imagine how anyone can get through all of the material that we would love to read, hear and absorbe.

So, now for the list:

1. Edutopia - This site is a must for teachers to browse through as there is just such a wealth of current ideas and materials contained here.

2. NPR's Topics: Education - For years I had listened to NPR on my long drive home from work and I have found that their website is just as enjoyable. Professionally, however, I have always found that NPR covers a wide varity of topics within education that are not just interesting but useful as well.

3. Frontline/World - Reports PBS - As a Media Specialist I must keep up with current events as every Social Studies teacher in my school makes connections from their content to what is happining now. If I am not aware of what is going on than I can not assist the students in their search for articals that make the connections.

4. YALSA - This stands for the Young Adult Library Service Association and is a must for Media Specialists. This site helps keep me in touch with the materials that my students are reading as well as the new authors that I should be looking out for.

5. Learning. Now - This is a section of PBS setup for teachers that focuses on technology and education. This is specifically a blog by author Andy Carvin, an edutech expert, and it goes into detail about ideas, techniques and concerns dealing with education and technology.
